How to Expand a Shot

Editing & Customizing Shots

For DPs and directors, a shot list is only as useful as its technical detail. Expanded view is where you add camera, movement, focus, framing and focal length to each shot.

Overview

Expanded view shows more fields so you can add specific camera and shot details.

Steps

  1. Select the shot card.

  2. Click the Expand icon from the action buttons on the far right.

  3. Make inputs in the additional fields. We do not auto-populate these fields — this is your movie and your creative choices. We highly advise you start thinking about these choices before the camera is ready to roll.

To expand all the shots in a scene, use the Expand All toggle at the top right of the shot panel.
