Getting Started Shotlisting

Finished your screenplay? The next step is turning that script into a shot list. Export a PDF from Final Draft, WriterDuet or any screenwriting app, upload it, and ShotKraft breaks it into scenes and drafts the shots for you.

Overview

Upload your script as a PDF and let ShotKraft automatically break it into scenes and generate your first shotlist draft.

Steps

  1. Go to your Dashboard.

  2. Click New Project → Upload PDF.

  3. Select your script file.

  4. Name your project.

  5. Click Start Shotlisting.

ShotKraft will parse your script and generate the first scene's shotlist automatically.

Tips

  • Most users find the first draft is 80–90% ready to shoot.

  • You can refine details later. Start with momentum.

Troubleshooting

My script didn't parse correctly, or I got an error.

Try the Copy/Paste workflow as a fallback. For a full troubleshooting guide, see: My Script Upload Failed — What to Do
